Ladies, if you have had one, there's no mistaking the sudden, intense, hot feeling on your face and upper body and oh my, the back of your neck, hairline and just about everywhere! Although brief and only lasting 30 seconds, they are driving me crazy! For those who know me and as they read this will shake their head and say "what, you're too young"! That's correct, ladies, I am!
My doctor tested me and well I'm not even close to menopause, my numbers on the scale are below the average for my age. So, why am I having night sweats and hot flashes. I'm not overweight, I eat healthy, there's not too much (and I say that lightly) stress in my life. So you wonder, what's causing it then? Well, I brought it on myself and asked for it. What, you scream loudly "are you crazy"?
You know we women all have problems with our bodies and sometimes it seems nothing is normal. My doctor gave me an injection the first week of January to help with symptoms I was having. She told me she was sending me into menopause for the next 90 days (and trust me I am counting - I am on day 59, that means only 31 more to go) ... smiling here! The injection is called Lupron Depot (google it, pretty scary), it is a hormonal agent that significantly reduces a womens' estrogen levels. I am confident when I say my husband is having the time of his life ... NOT! I am not experiencing any mood swings (but he will say I am) LOL
I can tell you not sleeping has got to be one of the worst things ever. I know for a fact that I have slept solid every night for at least 7 - 8 hours for the past 8 years or more. I am sure you could come into my home and ransack the place and I wouldn't hear you. Now, let me tell you, I don't sleep, I toss and turn and I moan and grunt and it's not fun. (One of the nice side effects of the injection). Again, smiling as I am counting down only 31 more broken sleeps till I sleep solid again!
